SUDAKAS. Executive Elites in Latin America and Southern Europe
This website is a prototype for an academic project on executive elites, political careers, and government composition in Latin America and Southern Europe.
The project examines who reaches executive office, how political and administrative careers develop over time, and how patterns of elite circulation vary across countries and institutional contexts. The site will gradually organise descriptive outputs, maps, longitudinal figures, and visual summaries of incumbent governments.
Project overview
The project focuses on executive elites across selected countries in Latin America and Southern Europe. It brings together information on ministers, senior political appointees, and other key actors in the executive branch.
The website is currently organised around three main outputs:
- Atlas: geographic visualisations and choropleth maps.
- Timeline: longitudinal country-level figures.
- Incumbents: plots and summaries of current governments.
This is an early prototype. The structure, labels, and visual outputs are provisional and will be revised as the project develops.
Current coverage
The first version of the prototype includes a timeline section for:
- Greece
- Italy
- Portugal
- Spain
